So, I have set a lofty goal of setting a personal best marathon time next year, and hopefully qualifying for the right to run the oldest marathon in the world, The Boston Marathon. From time to time I will be sharing and explaining a workout.
This morning’s run was cold, rainy and windy. I was going to run 400m fast with 200m steady to recover after a warm-up, but the weather made the tarmac slippery. Step 1 was to convince myself to get out the door. Step 2 was to change the session to hard and hilly. Fortunately I have a beast of a hill down the road from the practice.
The moral of the story is when the weather is rubbish, you need to adapt and have a good enough reason to get out the door. – Martin
