Remaining in the same position for long periods can be especially unhealthy for your posture, especially if you are sat down for the duration. Working long hours whilst maintaining a poor posture without any additional stretching or exercise will inevitably cause stiffness. A potential solution for this could be a Pilates class or perhaps light stretches on a morning and evening.

Heavy Lifting

Injuries can undoubtedly occur when carrying, lifting or moving heavy objects on a regular basis. Additionally, doing this in excess can cause a strain to your muscles. A suggestion for this could be a relaxation massage, or if you have a specific injury caused by continuous lifting, a remedial massage could be more beneficial.


Working long hours is known to have a direct correlation with a lack of sleep. This reduced sleep is then more likely to cause fatigue which makes working even more difficult; and the stress felt from struggling at work can have an impact on muscular tension. This ends up becoming a cycle as the pain of muscular tension can make sleeping uncomfortable, and less sleep means the body has less time to recover.
